Every Moment Of Every Day... 07/27/2010
It’s amazing how your life can change within seconds… Within hours… Within just 1 week. You’re whole outlook on life could be changed by even the tiniest moment in your life. Kinda scary, huh? To some extent, each & every one of us is afraid of change, even when we know that it’s inevitable, even when a majority of the changes are good. The fear that life is flying by so quickly, that at any moment you could lose someone you love, that the lake water is too cold, or the fear of walking your daughter down the aisle & giving her away. What we should be worried about is how much we cherish the moments we’re in now. No matter what happens, we know that we’ll never be in this exact moment ever again… Maybe that's a good reason to truly take in every moment of every day. Don’t dwell on the past. Live in the moment & dream about the future. A.E.C. 2 Comments Knowing Is Better Than Always Wondering... 07/23/2010
Have you ever thought about the decisions that have gotten you where you are today? Would you change them? Every decision you've made up until now, even in middle school, has lead your life in a specific direction. If you were to change anything, no matter how small, your life would change dramatically. Your decisions are like ripples in water. To change things... you'd be risking every memory since that regretted moment. We're meant to learn from our mistakes. Don't regret what you cannot change. If you regret what you can change, take the chance... knowing you tried is better than always wondering. And if you - by chance - stumple upon a time machine, think about the ripples you'll cause before jumping in. That time machine may be your worst regret yet. A.E.C. Do It Anyway... 07/21/2010
Every day we take risks. When we step into the shower, when we get into our car, even when we have breakfast. We take these risks because we want to live our lives. But for some, it's just not enough. Ask them why they want to go zip-lining, why they decided to go flying with their friend, or why they're trying to concur their fear of heights... They want to TRULY live their lives, to prevent the "What if..." moments that so often come later in life. Don't let your fears take control, make goals, accomplish them, & live the life you've always dreamed. Every day, each person we come across has the opportunity to change our day, our week, or sometimes even our lives. The choices each of these people have are limitless but many of them make their decision without a second thought. Think about the coworker who complimented you on your shirt today, the driver who cut you off in traffic this morning. Their day, good or bad, has come to effect yours & they may not even be aware. Though it should not these tiny pieces can set the mood of your entire day in one blink of an eye... Now think about that second thought... you'll start noticing your actions towards the people you encounter every day... and you'll wonder what effect you've had on them. You might even compliment them or even let that person in your lane during traffic... making them feel good, you feel good, & preventing a possible accident. :D Aww the possibilities to make our world a better place! LOL A.E.C. Preparing For THE Move... 07/17/2010
Lately, life seems to be getting a little more complicated. As the days draw towards the move to Nashville... (84 to be exact), I'm in a slight panic. There are so many goals I'd like to accomplish, so many tiny things I need to get together, & so many people I want to see before I go. - This sure does make a lot to write about - ;) I'm nervous, excited, scared... a little... & feeling overly independent. Pretty soon, you'll be reading my inspirational information directly from Nashville... & I'll be doing everything I can to get you to take a leap of faith too... Wow. :) You guys are awesome!!! A.E.C. GO - FIGHT - WIN... LOL 07/15/2010
Making permanent changes to your life can be scary. But, working past that fear is one of the most wonderful things in life. Letting fear hold you back in life is something that you may truly regret later. You can make excuses all you want about how right now is not the time to go after a certain dream, but in the end you must realize that these excuses pull you further away from that dream each time you run them through your head. There's nothing more painful to me than seeing someone make excuses to themselves on a daily basis. I will never understand those who allow themselves to sit in misery because they don't know what they want. - Get off your butt & go find it!!!! What's your greatest dream right now? Why are you keeping it at a distance? Are you afraid of failure? Life is all about trial & error... "GO, FIGHT, WIN" - Maybe our high school mascot taught us the most valuable lesson there is. Ok - so you're ready. Not sure where to start? Ask around, you'll be surprised at how many contacts you already have. - LOL - Seriously.... Go, Fight, Win... And I wasn't even a cheerleader. :) A.E.C. Another Goal Down... 07/07/2010
Today I bought lunch for someone behind me at the Taco Bell drive through. Man, I feel so nice. :) Not only is that something on my goal list that I've always wanted to do, it's also something that probably brightened that person's day. - Not to mention bringing a smile to the Taco Bell workers face. That's what I love about paying-it-foward. It's a win-win-win situation. They're happy, you're happy, & it makes this planet a tiny bit easier to live on. :) Just something to think about. A.E.C. The Perfect Balance... 07/06/2010
One day, you'll wake up & everything will be different. You won't regret anything in your past because you know that it's gotten you to where you are today. You'll look back on the best times, & soak up as many memories as you can in the present. You'll be changed forever, & life will seem completely fulfilled. Though there will be days of darkness, you'll know where you stand. You will fall, but you'll fall knowing that you can just dust yourself off & jump back in. You might fail, however, you'll fail knowing life's all about trial & error. You will be thankful for everything you have, push yourself forward with all of your strength to reach your greatest dreams, &, most importantly, on this day - you'll realize that you can devote yourself to others while also fighting for your own dreams... The perfect balance. I am changed. I'm the happiest I've ever been. And so the journey begins... A.E.C. Patience, Faith, & Determination... 07/03/2010
Patience, faith in yourself, & determination. These are all key things when it comes to success. Each of these things we come across every day without really paying much attention. This morning I spent time washing blueberries in a large sink. Many of them were lost in the water when I began to think about just how important patience is. Though they were only blueberries, they became symbols of my goals & dreams. I spent 15 minutes collecting them - proud of myself after catching them one by one. Because no matter how small the goal, it's still an important & memorable steppingstone in my life. Sometimes faith in yourself is hard to come by. We doubt ourselves, wondering how it's possible to get as far as we want to go. It is possible. Don't be afraid to lean on friends, but be sure to allow them to lean on you as well. - Also, remember that you can keep faith in yourself by building on your experiences - positive or negative - it doesn't matter. Life is all about trial & error. Finally, remember your determination. If you are standing up for yourself & fighting for your greatest dreams, you are determined. And that alone means the world. - It is those who are waiting for their greatest dreams to fall into their laps that will be the ones regretting things later because life is all about the journey. I hope this has inspired you in some way & I apologize for not writing recently, as we've moved to a new home without internet. Thank you again for all of your support & if you're interested, 2147Miles.com & I were recognized on Friday with an interview at www.getinspiredproject.com I love you all! A.E.C. | *
